Implementing Sisense BI
At Kabam Games, fragmented data systems for each product led to inconsistent database schemas, data dictionaries, and key performance indicator (KPI) calculations. This lack of standardization made it difficult to consolidate data and deliver consistent, actionable reports to leadership. To address these challenges, Sven led the development of a consolidated data and reporting platform that could unify performance measures and provide a total portfolio view of the company’s performance.
Sven designed the semantic layer to serve as the foundation for uniform data interpretation and collaborated with data engineering on its implementation. Selecting Sisense for its embedded analytics capabilities, he tailored the platform to Kabam’s unique needs by designing intuitive dashboards and visual layouts based on the customer journey framework. To empower FP&A, Sven developed thorough documentation that enabled power users to conduct ad hoc SQL queries, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.
The centralized reporting platform standardized product sales and performance metrics, delivering significant productivity gains. The FP&A team now saves 80 hours per month, equivalent to half a staff month, preparing data inputs for forecasting models. And the time to prepare product performance reviews has decreased by 85%, from four hours to just 30 minutes. This initiative demonstrated how Finance BI transforms data management and reporting, driving efficiency and strategic alignment.
